Songwriters at Play Celebrates Jerry Jeff Walker & Nanci Griffith.
He wrote "Mister Bojangles" and hit the charts with "L.A. Freeway.” Her country hits included Kathy Mattea's "Love at the Five and Dime" and Suzy Bogguss' "Outbound Plane.” Jerry Jeff Walker and Nanci Griffith were legendary Texas Troubadours.
Performers include the SoCal duo The Odd Birds; Katharine Edmonson of Banshee in the Kitchen, accompanied by Tom Walters of the Taproots; Santa Barbara's Lone Quail; and Central Coast favorites Ynana Rose, Cassi Nicholls, Bradly Coats, and John Sandoval.
Host Steve Key has appears at Moonstone frequently, as host of the monthly song contests, songwriters showcases, and also Guest Host of the Open Mic. Songwriters at Play has produced several concerts at Moonstone, including tributes to John Prine, Elton John, and Joni Mitchell.
