Songwriters at Play presents Katie Ferrara, Sonja Midtune, & Steve Key

Songwriters at Play host Steve Key shares the stage with LA-based performers Katie Ferrara and Sonja Midtune. The three singer-songwriters will swap songs and stories, in-the-round Nashville-style. Show runs 6-8pm in the Lounge.

Katie began her career with humble roots, performing for tips as a busker on the streets of Burbank, Santa Monica, and various farmers markets all over Los Angeles. Since then, Katie has made an international name for herself playing at street festivals in South Korea, the UK, Europe and New Zealand. She has released several albums as an  independent artist including “Dream Catcher” (2016) and “Break Free” (2020).  Her music can also be found on the Season 5 premiere of the Hallmark TV show "Good Witch". Sonja Midtune is a Minnesota-raised indie artist who has grown her roots in LA for the last 11 years. She just released her 3rd EP called "GOLDEN GIRL" recorded and produced by Sean Oakley (Rick Rubin, GEORGIA, LA ROUX). In 2022, she released a song every month, went viral several times on Tiktok, and increased her monthly listeners up to 28,000. Learn more at https://sonjamidtune.com/

Steve Key is an award-winning songwriter, performer and recording artist, best known as the writer of "33, 45, 78 (Record Time)" recorded by country music star Kathy Mattea. He recorded for New York's Fast Folk label, which is now part of the Folkways collection at the Smithsonian. His songs have been compared with those of Jim Croce, Don McLean, Harry Chapin, and Steve Earle. As a touring folksinger, Key played the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Canadian folk festivals at Winnipeg and Owen Sound, and three times on the main stage of the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas.
